Has anyone done any reinstall of an existing Media Agent with Deduplication database.
Details are as follows
Hardware Refresh of old Media Agent ( same ip and same hostname)
Existing
Media Agent with Deduplication database and Storagegrid as a disk library
Media Agent is running Windows 2012
Commvault v11.24

Plan of attack
Install Windows Server 2022 on existing Media Agent
Install same Commvault 11.24
Ensure disk library and DDB are online after installation using new OS

Any steps or information/links on how this can be achieve

@mach123 - you can do an in-place upgrade of the OS as defined here - MediaAgent - Upgrading the Operating System (commvault.com)

any other info on how to do a fresh install of the OS and keeping the configuration ( hostname, ip address, DDB and disk library ) intact?

Hello @mach123
If you are doing a fresh install you would need to manually assign the hostname and IP address, that cannot be done my Commvault during OS installation.

Regarding the configuration, everything is stored within the CommServe database.

For DDB disks and Library Mount points, you would need to re-mount these to the OS after installation. Since the configuration is preserved in the CommServe database, we will detect them as long as the folders, folder structure, and files are all still in-tact.

Thank you,
Collin
