Hi All,

I have read all the threads about to check DDB version V4 r V5, but there is no exact answer for checking the DDB version precisely. The threads are old 1 year or more, in the mean time is there any way to view the DDB version V4 or V5 anywhere?

i ran the ConvertDDBToV5 workflow but i it says there is nothing to upgrade.

Also verifed Dedup properties, the garbage collection option is greyed out.

Hence, i would like to know whether my DDB is updated to V5 and why the garbage collection option is greyed out?

Thank you in advance

HI @sauvegarde  -

check this report under the Health section - DDB Performance & Status  - https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/essential/38717_health_report_ddb_performance_and_status.html

there should be a column that shows if Garbage Collection is enabled. Its greyed out in your screen shot but it’s checked.

Hello @sauvegarde

Garbage Collection = V5. IF Garbage Collection is enabled, the DDB is V5.

Thank you,
Collin

Thank you @Gseibak , for the clarification. i have checked the DDB status, the garbage collection is enabled. But still no where we can see “DDB version V5” 😕

By the way, Do you know how to remove the greyed out and enable the check box for garbage collection option?

Thanks in advance.

Sauvegarde

@sauvegarde  - you are good here. we enable it be default and prevent users from disabling after that.

as Colin mentioned V5 = GC enabled. The V5 part is more of an internal reference we use, but its GC enabled.

Thank you so much @Gseibak@Collin Harper for your answer and explanation.

Best regards,
