We have IntelliSnap configured on the DELL EMC Isilon shares. Backups runs fine. no issues. While we restore the files /folders from the snap. both the files and folders have the latest timestamp instead of the original modified timestamp.

Could you explain why is that so and do you have any reference to CommVault / DELL EMC documentation about it.

Hi @zmhi , the documentation for these restores is here.

Are you restoring to a Windows client?

https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/expert/19717_considerations_for_restoring_ndmp_data_to_windows_or_unix_client.html

Restoring Files with Access Control Lists (ACLs)

Restores of files that contain Access Control Lists (ACLs) to Windows clients will include the backed up ACLs for the following vendors:

  • Dell EMC Isilon/PowerScale

  • Dell EMC PowerStore

  • Dell EMC Unity

  • Dell EMC VNX / Celerra

  • NetApp

For other file server vendors, files and directories that contain ACLs or permissions are restored but the ACLs are not restored.

Hi Mike,

We are restoring from one Isilon share to the other isilon share and found the files and folders have the latest timestamp instead of the original modified timestamp.

Thanks

Mohammed

@zmhi , the timestamps are only restored when going to a windows client.
