SQL DBAs want to be able to create Availability Group clients for themselves, and I’m all for it.

However, they don’t have the New Client button in the ribbon that I have (I have the ‘master’ role). I have been looking for what permissions to assign to a role for them but haven’t worked it out yet.

I have read Books Online (which caters for Command Center we don’t use) and have found nothing there to help.

DBAs can backup and restore SQL clients no problem, now I need them to create AGs.

Can anyone help with what role needs to be defined for this? Thanks

Please check the below DOC and let us know it this helps:

Note: The account must be set up on the client and must have Local administrator privileges and be a member of the SQL sysadmin fixed server role for the instance.
