Could you confirm if you are using a Oracle data guard configuration ?
If yes then following the steps documented on the link would ensure the logs are backed up from either on primary or standby based on your requirements

In case of data guard, if the logs are not shipped rman will throw a warning and will not delete the logs
RMAN-08137: WARNING: archived log not deleted, needed for standby or upstream capture process.

do we need to do to any configuration and script for this or will it automatically detect dataguard config and applies it ?

is there anyway we can see the configuration and scripts which used by commvault to backup oracle
