During configuring a SAN data server, Is we have an operating system that is required for media agent hosting disk libraries? Should it be Linux, or it be Unix or Windows?

I`m not sure what exactly your question is but you can refer to the SAN Data Server direct link here;

@dude thanks, for reply, From DOC “Since the shared SAN data server is a Linux based file server which can be accessed through Fibre channel interconnect,”

So that we can use any OS for media agent they will host disk library, or it is recommended to be Linux only ?

The following MediaAgents are supported:

  • Windows

    MediaAgents on windows clusters are not supported with Shared SAN Data Servers.

  • Linux

  • AIX
