I have backup data with a retention of one month; what will happen to my backup data or what is the next procedure to bear in mind or take into consideration, if my retention is ending or about to end?

After the retention period the jobs will be aged and will be pruned permanently.

If you want to keep the backups for a longer time then you can increase the retention.

Adding to my colleagues reply, you need to think of retention as the expiration date, once retention has been met, the jobs will be ready to age since they would have reached their lifespan.

 

There are certain condition that may make a job be retained for longer than their configured retention. Further information in Data Retention can be found in the following link;
