Hi @Maggie , hope all is well!

Does it work if you specify the port number?

https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/expert/107352_accessing_apiexplorer.html

The <API_Explorer> is an interface to visualize and interact with the latest Commvault RESTful APIs. Users can access <API_Explorer> from the Web Console.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the Web Console.

  2. In your web browser, go to https://<HostName>:<Port>/webconsole/sandbox/apiexplorer, where HostName and Port are the values for your Web Console.

    The <API_Explorer> appears.

Hi Mike,

It doesn't work even with port number. It throws 404 when port is specified.

Thanks

@Maggie , I took a deeper dive into our incident database and I was only able to find a single case with this error, and it was addressed in v11SP14 (case was 3 years old).

I would go ahead and open a support case and share the incident number here so I can track it.

@Maggie

I believe you need to upgrade your Commvault software.

API Explorer was provided in SP16+.  I think you’re CS is older than SP16.

Thanks,
Scott

Ok, thanks @Scott Moseman and @Mike Struening

I am currently at 11.0 version and cannot see the SP details. I am willing to upgrade to latest 11.28.

Can you please help me with the process?

@Maggie , @Scott Moseman  is a solid detective and saw you are on a very low version.

To upgrade, you’ll need to download the new updates, then apply to your CommCell.

Fortunately, the process is quite simple.

First download the software via these directions (be sure to select Upgrade to Latest Release:

https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/expert/2705_downloading_commvault_software_using_commcell_console.html

then, apply the updates via these directions:

https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/expert/2171_commcell_environment_upgrades.html

Note that you should upgrade the Commserve first, then the Media Agents, then your clients (which is why the directions are split into 3 parts).  Process is essentially the same and VERY simple, though it’s an important part to note.

Keep us posted!

Hi Team,

I tried the steps mentioned above but could not get it through.

Can we have a meeting set up for half hour or so, sometime tomorrow between 10:00am to 7:00pm IST?

Thanks

I don’t think you should use the cloud api explorer use the local instance.

The cloud api explorer always shows the latest version of the api which almost never matches your local version.

Hi Team,

I think I need more clarity on the commvault upgradation.
It would be really helpful if we can connect and discuss this in a meeting anytime tomorrow between 10:00am to 7:00pm IST.

Thanks !!

I think it's time to open a support ticket or get someone behind the keyboard with the required experience to upgrade the environment, although the process itself is pretty straightforward.
