Hello,

we have two SQL Vmware VMs building a MSSQL AG. Is it possible to backup these nodes and SQL with VSA app aware backup?

Thanks and regards,

Thomas

Hello @ThomasG

Yes you are enable appaware on MSSQL AG nodes. Because of the nature of a MSSQL AG we generally recommend performing traditional backups on the nodes and setup the SQL AG pseudo client, but you can leverage appaware if desired. There are various things to be aware of and config recommendations when leveraging appaware for an AG.

Good question!  I’m not seeing Availability Groups explicitly mentioned one way or the other.

I’ll ask around and get a response for you.
