Quick question: customer has an audit and is required to document the steps taken to secure the commcell. One thing is the media password. It can be set, it can be changed and you need of course to write it down… BUT: is there some way to report IF a media password is set or not (for the auditor). Would fit perfectly in the Security assessment tile in the CC.

The only way I see is actually changing the password - if “enter old password” is left blank and new password is applied, you didn’t have one. Which is not a reportable solution.

Thanks.

Hey @Ingo Maus , I’m pretty sure one of the Media Reports will show this, though I want to ensure it’s in our docs.

Let me reach out to the docs team and get the link (or put a CMR in for you).

@Ingo Maus , here you go:

https://documentation.commvault.com/11.25/essential/38200_data_views_for_client_encryption_information_report.html#client-details

This report has you covered!

This report doesn’t show if password set or not, it only shows “Direct Media Acces” setting value. So, could you please suggest where I can see if Media access pasword is set or not?
