Getting this message when trying to browse / restore from a specific full backup. There are several in a row that are affected. Backups before and after this group are fine. Any direction on how to fix this and find out why this happened?
First, locate the specific job in the client’s backup history, right-click on it and view media. Then ensure that any media for that job is available, e.g. tape is in the library or maglib is online.
Also, be sure the Commserve and Media Agent are fully patched.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, you should open a case with support, so they can review the logs to determine they exact cause and next steps.
From Commvault CRM
The index is needed to allow for browse of backup contents. However, the index is not present in Index Cache. The index is actually archived in cloud cold storage.

JobManager:
The operation is not valid for the object's storage class. The object might be archived and the Cloud Recall workflow might have been initiated.
CVD :
This operation is not permitted on an archived blob.
Resolution:
To allow for restore of indexes from archive cloud storage, recall must first be initiated via documented procedure.
