Hi CommVault Community,I deployed the Azure Applications for M365 Services with the Express Setup. The Azure Applications have some permissions that are somewhat concerning from a security perspective. Therefore the question, are the following permissions really necessary? Why do the Azure Apps need "Application.ReadWrite.All" permissions? Why does the Azure Application for SharePoint Online need "RoleManagement.ReadWrite.Directory" permissions? They are not listed in the official documentation!https://documentation.commvault.com/2023/essential/142507_request_and_grant_permissions_to_azure_apis_for_azure_app_for_sharepoint_online.htmlCVSPBackupAppCVTeamsBackupAppCVODBackupAppCVExBackupApp best regards,Andreas
While trying to delete a domain entry (name server entry) under domain and organization in security, commvault shows a confirmation dialog box “This operation permanently deletes all clients and their associated data for the selected Name Server. Are you sure you want to delete the selected Name Server ?” what does this really imply? The validation check kept failing with verification error stating either credentials are wrong or the provider couldn’t be contacted for verification, hence we created a new entry for the same domain and validation check is successful on that.I want to get rid of the old entry for which the validation is failing. Is it safe to delete the old domain entry (name server)

Hello,We are currentlly on version 11.22.57 and palnning to upgrade to 11.24.34. Download and Sync of software cache ususally takes time ( around an hour ), so would like to save time and download it in advance. plan is to upgrade the CS (using a local package) and than push the upgrade to all MA’s from GUI.Is there any risk in download & Sync the software cache ( On CS and Remote cache on Hyperscale nodes ) with a higher version than what is currentlly installed ? Will it create some conflict with what is curentlly in the software cache ? Thanks
Hi All In our environment data verification is disabled, recently from storage team came to know that (Exagrid backup solution) there are some files corrupted. how we can verify now, which jobs file got corrupted, if we run data verification job on all jobs will we able to find. otherwise if the storage team provide the chunk file name which has corrupted from that file will we able to identify the job.
Hi guys. We have a customer running Commvault v11.24 (Commserve and 1x Media Agent) on Windows 2012. An OS upgrade to W2019 + CV upgrade to v11.32 will be happening soon. It’s a small environment with Exchange Compliance Archiver Agent installed on the CommServe server archiving a few email msgs from legacy systems per day on Exchange on-prem. The Search node for this agent is running on the Media Agent however the Index sits on the CommServe server. The decommissioning of this environment will happen in 12-18 months only. From the Deprecation Note... https://documentation.commvault.com/11.24/essential/157248_deprecation_notice_for_exchange_compliance_archiver_agent.html...the replacement is the new Exchange Agent. A new client server will be created and the new Exchange agent installed on it. The idea is to keep the Commserve server clean and steady without any other role running. But, in replacing and decommissioning the old Exchange Agent what happen with the Search Node and index?
