Status of IndexCache using CLI/RestAPI/ ... is there a way to get it ?

Workflow: Can I create a dynamic WizardBlock?

Hi community. I would like to create a dynamic WizardBlock that iterates over a list and displays PopupInputs for all the entries in the list. I tried it already like in the picture below. Unfortunately this just puts every PopupInput after the other but without the “back” and “next” buttons. It is completely ignoring the WizardBlock. The same apllies to a modified version where I put the WizardBlock inside the ForEach loop.  Any ideas if and how I could achieve my goal? I would even go with a solution created dynamically by java code if there is no other option. But I also cannot figure out how I would do that. Best regardsPasqual

Bonjour à toutes et à tous,Ayant des copy allant sur bandes, je dois prouver à certains client que les données ne sont plus accessibles à la fin des rétentions, pour moi un simple delete contents / delete ne suffit pas à rendre les données inaccessible sur la bande mais permet juste à commvault de ne plus y avoir acces.Donc nous ne rentrons pas dans le cadre legal de la règlementation sur la gestion des données. Tant que la bande n est pas formater ou qu’un nouveau label n’est pas positionné, il est toujours possible d’accéder aux données sur cette dernière via des outils tierce.  Quelqu’un a-t-il un ptit tips pour effectuer ces actions via une qcommande ou via l’API.Merci d avance

cvpysdk - Error connecting to Commcell

Hi,I am trying to to explorer automating our Commcell environment. Unfortunately I encountered and error connecting to commcell. I would like to inquiry the error when connecting to commserve using cvpysdk python library. Below is the error.   Error when connecting to commserv using hostname. but i can ping the hostname from the server.  If something is blocking, is there a required port to open to be able to connect successfully?

Hello, I need your help to understand how to do a browse through files with python. The ArchiveSet=MyArchiveSet1A have 14day retention period.We want to preserve diferent versions of the same file. Change/remove SQL Impersonate Users via API or PowerShell modules

Friends, I try to find a way to automate the sql61props via Rest API or Powershell modules. Does anyone has experience with this? My goal is to remove the MSSQL Credentials (Impersonate Users) or replace by dummy and to disable overrideHigherLevelSettings per Client as this is now managed at Server Group. I tried to use Get-CVClient, update $_.pseudoClientInfo.idaInfo.sql61Prop as how I want to have it and post this via Set-CVClient. The answer is that it is successful, but nothing is changed. I also tried to update the settings directly via Submit-CVRESTRequest with the result; answer like succesful, but nothing done. I was looking at sending an XML to send the update, but I can’t find the parameters. Can anyone help me with this?Thanks in advance,Maurice

VM Backup and restore workflow

Hello,I am trying to create workflow for VM backup and restore.I have used predefined workflow Demo_FileSystemBackupRestore and tried to modify it for VM.Everything goes fine until it gets to restore phase where I get Error 0x303: Q_VIRTUAL_SERVER iDataAgent is not supported by this command.Thanks for any suggestions,Michal

Instance Enable

I am monitoring the subclients. I see the “enableBackup” in the api for the subclients but notice the job does not run when the instance is not enabled which I can detect visually from the UI but do not see an attribute in the Instance or InstanceProperties API. Is there attribute for the instance enabledBackup?

Postgres Backup and restore workflow

I would like having a workflow for backing up Postgresql databases and restore a subset to another Postgresql client and instance by using DumpBasedBackupSet.So I started editing a clone of the “Demo_FileSystemBackupRestore”-workflow.I was able to change the “Backup” and “Restore” task to Postgres in ‘dataAgent’ and giving the instances.What I wonder: the field “instance” is of type String - isn’t there a way to fill this field automatically with all the instances of a given client? For we have Postgresql-clusters with several instances running …But where I am definitely stuck is at selecting the database to restore, neither Backup nor Restore include a field for specifying subsets of backuped data.Any hint to put me on the right track is very welcomed.Markus

How To Set Backup Filters Via API

Automate RDS backups using Terraform and Commvault

Hi!We have a lot of microservices in development that will use RDS PostgreSQL as a DB. They will born together, at same time.I would like to put this new RDS in a existent structure using terraform, adding plans, storage policies, schedules, etc.Has anyone done this? Any tips? I have done some research on the internet and have found very little on the subject.

Multitenant configuration

A question about the implementation of multitenat when using the same commserve.I have not been able to understand if it is necessary a server that acts as a proxy, or that must be enabled to implement it, is there a step by step guide for such implementation, in my case I already have a solution in production and the requirement is to install another company that has a mediagent but that is in a separate environment and does not share resources with the first production environment, acting as a separate solution. is it possible?

Have to learn Infrastructure as code - some questions

Hey Guys!I have no experience in automation. I want to apply for a job that requires IaC. That's all that I know. I don't know what kind of IaC they are talking about. It's a large enterprise environment.  What are your CommVault IaC solutions? There are different solutions, like Ansible. What is supported by CommVault, or what solution works best for you? I know you can save as script, write qcommand scripts, using the Powershell cmdlet, but what is more common nowadays?  What are the benefits of your IaC solutions, why did you implement it, what are the best use cases, and why was it your best decision, otherwise, what do you dislike, and what are some downsides? What kind of automation does not work with CommVault but would be great, what are some features which are you waiting for? Thank you a lot! Kr

Workflow script activity works in debugger but fails when executed.

API errors on 11.28.69 for controlling Activity

So I have some scripts that I use to disable/enable the activity controls in my Commcell (so that I can automate maintenance task).  The script works fine on 11.28.65 and returns a JSON showing that everything is working fine.  When I run this against my Commcell that is at 11.28.69, I get this back as a JSON:{ "processinginstructioninfo": { "attributes": [ { "name": "WebServer", "value": "Commserv" } ] }, "errorMessage": "Failed to set [Activity Control] for [CommCell] with error [OPERATION FAILED: Please check logs for more details.].", "errorCode": 587203847}It only returns this if the status needs to change (i.e. activity is disabled, and I’m trying to enable).  If the status doesn’t change (i.e trying to enable activity when it’s already enabled), it comes back with a success.Any idea what logs to look in to see what is going on?As a secondary note, the user only has Global > Administrative
