Alert when user logon to Commvault

Hi All, Is it possible to setup an alert when user logon to the Commvault/commcell/commancenter. If yes, please provide the steps. Regards,Rahul

How to allow access to webconsole for some parts of administrator which had access to Commcell

Hello All, Yesterday with one of my colleague we tried to configure some Reports from daily backup on email. The fastest way is login to webconsole. My colleague has some access to CommCell, but from site of webconsole, when he tried to login, the popup window inform us that the user or password is not corrected. I wonder what type of security access should be granted to the user to: Have access to webconsole.  Have possibility to create proper report.Regards, Michal

NetApp OnTap migration from on-premises to cloud

we plan to migrate Netapp OnTap from on-premises to cloud, want to get some suggestion. 1, plan to backup data to Azure data box, then restore data from data box to Azure file service. How to move backup image from Azure data box to Azure blob for next restore job? 2, on-premises Netapp OnTap is about 10TB, will move them to Azure file service and run routine backup job. How to charge license for the migration and routine backup job? 3, After we restore data from Azure data box for Azure file service, how to sync. data between on-premise Netapp ontap and Azure file service? 4, how to backup Azure file service? mount CIFS on backup agent?

Cloud VM snapshot

Plan to create Azure VM snapshot and AWS EC2 snapshot by Commvault and keep 3 snapshot copies for each VM.1, the snapshot is full snapshot? or we have chance to create incr. snapshot for cost saving.2, how to calculate snapshot cost?

Notes - Database transaction log restore.

Good day. I am busy testing Notes database and Transaction log backups & restores.I have scheduled a daily full and hourly log backups.Test restores from full backup work as expected, but the Transaction log restores do not restore any changes that occurred after the full backup. I did not select “Do not replay transaction logs” option.I have been reading through the Commvault documentation, but I am struggling to find detailed documentation around Notes DB transaction log restores.Any assistance would be appreciated.

Is there a list of what Commvault products require java (and what version if java and commvault?)

I have a media agent (no jobs going to it) that’s also hosting the webserver/console.  I’ve been informed of 2 java installs on this server and am being asked if they can be removed.  There is no Java console installed, but there is an installed product “Commvault Contentstore” as well as MS SQL server things installed for 2008 → 2012, and a MongoDB.  I’m not sure if these were part of some older Commvault products, or just something else some admin installed for some reason.it appears there’s a running commvault related SQL Server agent (“SQLAgent$Commvault” windows service) as well as a running “MSSQL$COMMVAULT” Windows service, but I cannot see any MS SQL related things in the Java console attached to this media agent (as a clinet/subclient)… so what’s the database for?There’s also these running Windows services (and some others commvault related, but these stood out):GxTomcatInstance001 - the webserver I presume, though IIS is also running?GxMONGO(Instance001) - I have no idea what

Time to enable Hyperscale 1.5 Ransomware protection

Hi all. Does anyone have any rough figures on the time it takes for the script to complete the work, and the media agent become available again?I have 6 Hyperscales in a block, with about 300TB of backup data on the block and am just wondering how long Activity will have to be disabled for.

Commvault FSA install package with no internet

I downloaded the version 11 Download manager 22.9 MB, I go to install it and commvault install is blocked on my client so I have to get larger install package.I am on version 11.25.32, is there another install package that is smaller than 2gb / 11.25.36 I know before the install packages were 300MB.

HPDP to commvault object restore configuration

Hi All, Greetings for the day!Currently we are using Microfocus data protector backup tool with HPE Storeonce catalyst now we planning to move the clients to commvault. As per my understanding restoring the third party tool we require the stage server with commvault migration components then access the third party tool and select the client then restore into commvault. Please correct me if i am wrong

Retrieve file system agent that is deleted

is there any way to reconfigure a deleted file system core and agent that is configured before?i deleted them since i thought that we dont need to backup the FS and retain the SQL only.i tried update and repair software but it was still not appearing. When i tried install software. the file system and core is already greyed out.  i want the file system to appear again like this.

Enable chaining for Windows continuous data replicator agents?

In CommCell Console, in the control panel, in the Data part, when selecting Replication, the option “Enable chaining for Windows continuous data replicator agents” appears. Does anyone have more information about this action and what happens if I disable it? Than you.

Long term backup is not happening for oracle node

We have a oracle node where the long term retention (7 years) not happening. It was happening successfully till last year. The node is part of  long term copy policy. I have attached the screenshot for reference.Note: We were getting multi channel warning message from this oracle backup from last few months however its resolved now.    Any suggestion will be really helpful

IP address changes on Azure VM restore

Good day all I hope everyone is doing well.This one is a bit of a strange one.Customer has two VM’s (in Azure) that are clustered with IP’s assigned as expected.Servers were accidentally destroyed and rebuilt at an OS level only. No data drives were added. The request was to just to an ‘In Place’ restore and overwrite the two rebuilt VM’s.Once the restore process was complete it was noticed that the IP addresses of the two nodes swapped around.I am not convinced this is something that happened in the restore process as the job logs of both servers show the correct IP’s during the restore process.I’m not an expert in Azure support, so it is possible something in that stack could have caused this, or would the ‘In Place’ option have something to do with it?I do need to mention that the IP’s are assigned statically by Azure.I hope that makes sense.Thanks all.Mauro

How to specify subclient contents for Linux file systems as '/'

HelloWhen setting the subclient contents of the Linux Filesystem Agent in the V11 SP16 environment, I would like to know how to set it to the '/' path.It was not added by entering / in the add paths, and it was not added by clicking add after selecting the Agent Server name in Browse.
