 Hello, please, I need your help. I'm trying to add an ENDPOINT with Linux Mint 21.1 operating system locally, and when I try to install it, I get the following error. In the Commvault documentation, Linux Mint 21.1 is not listed as a supported operating system. However, I wanted to know if someone managed to install it or how I could proceed since the client only uses that operating system.

With the push for Command Center only operations is there a guide for command center performance optimization?

My command center is decent, but often I have to wait while the Command Center populates. I would assume that this sluggishness is a combination of web-server performance and sql performance.Are there tips and tricks out there to make this thing fly?

cannot access to command center

Hello after an upgrade from 11.24 to 11.28 I cannot access to the command center , i tried to open the command center from chrome and edge I tried to restart the server , also restart to the services of commvault any ideas?and this is webserver.log : Thanks!

Passkey Recovery

We are currently looking into enabling the PassKey feature for one of our ‘Companies’ associated to our Multi-Tenant CommCell.The feature meets all the requirements to allow us, as the MSP, to support the customer from a BAU perspective without being able to view the sensitive data we will be backing up.However, I need to explicitly know that if the customer who will hold the Passkey loses this, can it be recovered from the CSDB?The customer will enter the passkey via remote session so as the MSP we will not have any record of it but need to be able to provide a solution in the event they misplace the Passkey.Thanks in advanced

DDB Last verified on

What is the difference between “DDB Last Verified On” and “Existing Job On Disk and DDB Last Verified On”?   Since there is not option to start a job that don’t verify existing jobs on disk? There is a Quick and a non-Quick verification job, but both of them verify existing jobs on disk.

SQL Log Backup

Hey All, one question regarding the SQL Log backup.  We had 2 SPs  SPDB → FullSPlog → translog We are running every 10 minuts log backups and every 15 minuts auxcopy. The split is needed because after the full db backup the auxcopy take a long time. That we have the logs in DC2 we splited that the auxcopy for both SPs can run at the same time.  No we have the problem when 1 DB is converded to diff that the Hole job will associated to the SPDB SP.  Exampel: Server 1: DB1 / Recovery modus FullDB2 / Recovery Modus SimpleDB3 / Recovery Modus Full When the Backup job started it goes to SPlog when the second dbs runs the hole job is rerouted to SPDB.  Is there any possibility to prevent ths ? Yes i can create an new subclient for all dbs with simple recovery modus… But what happend when the dba create a new one.

To make the same copy of Commvault server to another server

Dear Support Team,Greetings!!We have Commvault server, which is on hard disk, now I need to move it to SSD. So how can it be done? And if we take a new server, then the running server as it is file and whatever configuration will be transferred to that new server, then the same has to be copied. And the existing server has to be removed after moving backup old to new. So is this possible? ThanksAmol.

Cloud Command

Hi Team,We have 3 CommCells registered/uploading to cloud.commvault.com but would like to see only one (our prod) in Cloud Command as the other two are are used for test/dev and not relevant to us from reporting perspective (no one is worried about backup failures in dev but it affects the reported environment score). Any ideas?Thanks

MySQL doesn't restore changes in database

Our MySQL backup is taking hourly transaction log backups and fetting a daily full. We tested restoring logs only for a different destination after a full recovery. But some changes that we made in DB were not presenr there  (before the full backup.) This changes were only could be taken from those incremental backups.Please help us to figure out this issue.

Idea for Commvault - Please make easy to find documentation about permissions

Commvault reps, if you see this message, really hope you will consider this.The reason for my wish, is that we are noticing more and more questions from customers about why they provide us with permissions in their environment.“Because the backup service needs it” is no longer an acceptable reason for many.I am guessing that they have an increased focus on security, but I have a feeling that audits are becoming more important for many of the customers. The auditor might want to know what an account or an azure app is using their given permissions for.I wish for a place in the Commvault docs or somewhere on the site, where a customer or commserve admin can read about the reasons why an account or azure app needs all the different permissions in the different backup/restore scenarios.There is a nice table for Exchange Online Azure apps here: “https://documentation.commvault.com/v11/essential/147825_application_permissions_for_azure_app_for_exchange_online.html”Why not create a similar ta

Problem with NDMP backup Error Code: [39:44]

Hello all!We do have NDMP backup configured within our environment. The parent path looks like that: /stpbdedcfs101/f3_cifs_dfs_shares09/dfsshares09there was a first fail while creating full backup with this kind of error:  now every next incremental backup does fails with this kind of error:This whole location is still in use and accessible. We have confirmed that while “browsing for new content”While checking logs i have discovered following message: As you can see at the previous screenshot location DFS_000651_HG_DEMU_VK exist.Is that error men that backup is not able to access this particular location?As You can see backup fails with only 1 “Failed folder”So does that means, that this incremental backup is not seeing any changes within the whole parent location and fails only because it is not able to access DFS_000651_HG_DEMU_VK ?

Aftere Commserve IP Change - E-mails are failing to be sent

Hello,We have changed our Commserve IP and noticed that after the change E-mail notifications cannot be sent from the Commserve machine ( Alerts , reports etc. )Are there any Commserve IP dependencies for that matter ?  Thanks

Application-Aware Backup Strategies for ActiveMQ & Hazelcast

Hello Commvault Experts, I'm dealing with a time synchronization issue in our setup where Hazelcast is missing its 5-second heartbeats, presumably due to 30-second time leaps during our backup snapshots. This results in dropped connections and servers hanging, a problem that emerged suddenly. We suspect that Commvault snapshot operations might be causing this. Would application-aware backups be the right approach to prevent such disruptions, especially for time-sensitive applications like Hazelcast and ActiveMQ? If so, what specific application-aware backup configurations does Commvault support for these applications? Any insights on strategies to maintain operational integrity during backups would be highly valuable.Thanks for your help.

Migrate the backup of SQL Cluster from Data protector to Commvault

Hello Team, I am migrating a SQL Cluster from Data protector to Commvault. Do you know if we can migrate by leaving data protector installed and running, and moving gradually the DB backup to Commvault one by one ? I Just want to know if Data protector and Commvault can run together. Data protector will be uninstalled when all DB will be backed up successfully to Commvault. Thanks !

DR site's DB appears fried

So we’ve been having issues with the DR site’s CV backup.  I’ve managed to access the COMMVAULT instance in management studio, to see these lovely notes:… and:This is a system that I’ve inheirited and still learn new things about every other day.  My best thought here is that I simply need to nuke and repave (rebuild) this entire CV server.  It’s not the end of the world and would be a good learning experience for me.   But I have to ask - is there a faster way?  I really don’t think just backing up the main site’s DB and recreating everything here can be trusted (different server names, etc.) This is CV 2022 (11.28.x) running on server 2022.  Based on being CV v11.28, you might already know it’s SQL Server 2014.Thougths? Merci!
