Is there a way to tell Commvault that the “Full” database backup in a plan should be a real Full, and not an Differential backup.
I know that I can add an additional Full backup, but I want the default full backup to be a true Full Backup

The DB backup RPO issue has been fixed in FR32.
For the FULL you can add the schedule from the RPO setting.
Note: The differential backups will only run once per 24 hours even if you update the incremental backup schedule to run more frequently. https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/essential/130560_automatic_server_plan_backup_schedules_and_associated_conversion_rules.html
