What steps are being takes or do you suggest in training staff on possible scam/phishing events? Seeing as this where most attacks are present
Phishing attacks are getting harder and harder to spot! We've all seen the training videos that corporations force us all to watch, but often that falls on clicking through as fast as possible, which defeats the purpose of the training. In practice, companies that test phishing attacks with their IT/SecOps teams frequently are the best, first line of defense. It takes a constant vigilance to get users to stop trusting emails that 'look like they are good' and move to a 'zero-trust' model, even for emails. As for which tools? There are lots of examples of simulators out there like Defender for Microsoft 365 that can help them get started. It is that persistence that pays off over time, coupled with other mitigations to minimize the exposure to ransomware.
