Access Commcell Console from another Server/Computer

Hello guys, a simple question:

Is it possible to access my Commcell Console using another computer and/or server where my Console is not installed?

For instance: I need to access the Commcell Console and make something inside (see if there’s any error, configure a Schedule Policy specific) and everytime I need to access the CommServe Server and this in my case is something a little annoying to do,  .

I was thinking in install the Commcell Console in my computer and if I need to make anything specific in the CommServe I could connect using it, but I don’t know if this is possible and if it is okay to do, too.

Thanks,

Well considering that you can actually ping the CommServe and nothing is really blocking the communicating between the computer you are logged and the CS you should be able to access it just fine.

http://webhost/adminconsole

https://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v11/article?p=86636.htm

Replace the webhost with the server name and login with your administrator account, in many cases the webhost is also your commserve server could be different in your environment.

And as I type and hit save, I also remembered that you can can launch the console using

http://webserverhostname.domain.com:port/console/

https://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v11/article?p=3838.htm

If you have OpenJDK installed on your remote machine you should be able to grab the next.jar file from the Commserve https://cs.whatever.local/console/netx.jar and execute it…. (it will then download needed files to “C:\Users\<UserName>\Commcell Console” and execute) So no local admin privileges required on the remote machine.. )

Thanks for the quick answer, but the access from the adminconsole via Web Browser is something that I already have access, and it works like a charm, but like I said, sometimes I need to access the Commcell Console to configure some things that in the Admin Console (Web version) is not able to do yet.

And to correct myself the filename is netx.jar and not next.jar… Sorry about that :-)
