Our version is 11.25.11.

We recently had an employee move on and wanted to modify the Email ID in the User Properties dialog box for a service account and received an error stating:

Another user with email [email address goes here] already exists.

Is this a bug? We do have a couple of separate user accounts configured with the same email id so not sure why we are unable to modify?

Hi @dman76

Just so I understand the situation, you have one local user (service account) as well as a domain user that share the same email address.

When you try to modify the service account email ID, it gives the error? Or is this the domain user properties that fail?

These are CommCell users.

In recent 11.2x and above releases Email addresses for all users (local users and/or domain users) must be unique, upgraded cells kept the dupes, however it will not allow you to create new duplicate emails and it will now check the user list for dupe emails. this is a security enhancement to prevent incorrect 2fa and self service password resets.
