We have two File system servers configured MS Failover Cluster.

We already installed File system core & File system agent in both nodes and then added cluster client.

Created new subclient under the cluster client and then content trying to browse the Drive and folders.

We are not able to browse any files under few folders.

While running backup it's scanning only and not able to start the backup.

The specific folders inside files are encrypted using software.

Log error:

FolderWatcherOps::Run(113) - Failed to get the filters from registry. Error=[0x80070002:{FXRegistry::GetRegValue(720)} + {FXRegistry::GetRegValue(760)/W32.2.(The system cannot find the file specified. (ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND.2))-RegQueryValueExW failed, Key=[SOFTWARE\CommVault Systems\Galaxy\Instance001\EventManager], Value=[sMonitorPaths], RegOptions=[0x0]}]

Please advise.

Hi @Anand K,

It seems like block level backup is enabled based on the log files. There could be an issue loading the driver causing it to fail. Maybe the option to install the driver was not selected during configuration or its incompatible with the software being used to encrypt the drive.

  • The Install block filter driver check box is displayed for the first subclient you configure. Once you click OK, the option will not be displayed in any subclient residing under the client computers node.

Here are the setup instructions

Could you check and disable block level and see if it helps?

  1. In the Advanced Subclient Properties dialog box, click the Advanced Options tab.

  2. On the Advanced Options tab, set up your block-level backup:

    1. To enable block-level backup, select the Optimized for File system with large number of small files (Block-LevelBackup) check box.

Hi Damian,

Thanks for your update. Let me check this option and will update for the same.

But currently Acronis backup is working fine on these clients file backup. From Acronis is getting fast for browsing files / folders.

Hi,

We checked the subclient level and it's not enabled block-level backup option.

And again while accessing encrypted folder files from Subclient level, it's taking time to get the files.

We observed while browsing the encrypted data the commserve is freezing few seconds.

Please advise, is it necessary to enable Block-level backup option in this scenario.

Thanks in advance.

@Anand K , which log is that excerpt from?  It looks like a line from fielscan.log.  Can you share what you see in cvbackup.log for that time frame?

I see issues with that provided error, though they are so varied as to be of no help.

Thanks!

@Anand K , following up on this one.  Let me know if you’re still having an issue.
