Hello,

Is it possible for commvault to generate a report of all the files backed up on a drive? example the D drive? including the size of the files or how about the top 50 or 100 largest files?

If so can this be done through commcell or would it be better using the command center?

Thanks for any help in advance

@Commvault387 not sure if this can be done using the report build. Just of out curiosity, but that is the use-case to have such a report? Depending on the version that you are running you can use the report builder that is integrated into Command Center.

Hello,

Ok, Thanks again for the reply, I haven’t used the report builder I will have to try to find it.

I would just run TreeSize and save yourself a few hours of trying to figure this out through a Commvault custom report.  I don’t see this as being an easy report to build, if it’s even possible.  😀

Thanks,
Scott

Hi,

We have a built-in “File Search” Report under “Search And Analytics”  which does what you are looking for.

You can put the required regex pattern to limit data to a drive or a given path.

Be default it lists the top 1000 largest files matching the pattern.

Let me know if you have any issue in using that report.

Thanks Scott and Ankur for your replies,

We will take a look at both.

Thank you for your help!

Hi Ankur,

See attached image, in the selection its required to enter a file-name (required) the user wants the top 100 files. How to we just list the files without having to enter the file name. Also, can this be limited to the D drive?

Thanks again.
