Hello Commvault Community,

A few days ago I configured some Auxiliary copy job from local MA to Cloud Library in Azure. I have noticed that some of the job use only one steam for the copy data. I am looking for reason why that behavior it takes place. The configuration is very simple:

Media Agent with local copy → second copy in storage account Azure but connected to the same MA.

I have the same configuration, but in different storage policy and in there the Copy is ongoing on tens of streams not only 1.

Please help me to find out the reason of that property.

Regards,

Michal

Hello @Michal128

Thank you for reaching out on this question.  The Auxiliary Copy cannot copy jobs with more than the number of streams that the job was written with.  If the source data is written with only 1 stream, then it can only be copied with 1 stream.

If it was written with multiple streams, but unevenly, this can cause uneven stream distribution in the Auxiliary Copy.  To correct for this, you can enable the dynamic stream allocation:

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hello Jose,

Thanks for that details. I think the case is realted to the one stream is created for creation backup from primary copy and that the reason of the copy data to the second Media by Auxiliary copy job.
