Hi All,

one of media agent version 11.32.35 with DDB incorrect uninstall all Commvault software, the IndexCache and DDB folder still available

 

we could not find recover procedure from 2023E (11.32), could follow https://documentation.commvault.com/11.20/reinstalling_mediaagent_to_different_location.html reinstall commvault media agent in the same server and recover?

The good news is in the worst case where both of the folders are deleted we can completely rebuild them from scratch. So we can try to get them back in place but if it does not worth we can just let it rebuild if we have to.

The DDB location is set inside of the CS and checked on the MA when the services come online. As long as it has not moved then when the services come online for the MA all should be ok. It will do a sync check and trigger a rebuild if it is wrong or unhealthy in anyway.
 

When you install the CV services and include the index software it will prompt you for a index cache location. I believe it will give you an error if this location is not empty when you do this so you may need to move all items out of the folder, install the software and move it back. Once that is done to test it is all healthy you need to try a browse. If the browse works then you are all good. If it fails, the browse would have started a reconstruction anyway and try again in a few hours.
