Hi,

Just want to ask if there are specific use cases or features that Hyperscale X can provide without Commvault Backup and Recovery or Disaster Recovery software? Or would I need CV backup and recovery to enjoy the features of the Hyperscale X reference architecture (i.e. would I have backup and recovery capabilities using the hyperscale X reference architecture on my servers alone without the CV Backup and Recovery license)

Hi @PaulGeorge

HyperScale X is designed to provide backup and recovery based on the Commvault platform.
In order to use this solution as intended a pre-defined configuration and valid license is required.

Looking at the node it self, you are able to configure and adjust OS related functions from Command Line, but you can encounter limitations within the image which are put in place by development. Also be aware that certain modifications are not supported and can void your support on the node(s).

I would recommend to use the nodes as intended by Commvault.
