This week, Commvault announced significant advancements to its Cleanroom Recovery software solution, now supporting early access deployment on AWS alongside Microsoft Azure, as well as new capabilities for automated recovery of file shares and enhanced functionality for managed service providers. SaaS support is planned for early summer 2025.

 

 

Many customers use various cloud providers for different applications and workloads, and now Commvault supports both AWS and Microsoft Azure, enhancing cyber resilience for AWS-native multi-cloud environments. Customers can now seamlessly recover workloads into a cleanroom in  AWS or Microsoft Azure using Cleanroom Recovery.

  • Multi-Platform Orchestrated VM Recovery: Orchestrated any-to-any conversion for seamless VM recovery across clouds, on-premises, and physical servers.
  • Pave/Repave: Quickly repave compromised VMs using secure, pre-configured golden images for consistent and clean environments.
  • Script-Based Malware Detection: Anomaly detection via scripts to identify ransomware using Windows Defender.
  • Auto Scaling of Recovery Infrastructure: Functionality to allow automatic deployment and scaling of recovery infrastructure to match the size and complexity of recovery operations.

Early Access FAQs 

  • Who can participate in the early adopter release? 
    Any customer interested in trying Cleanroom Recovery for AWS can request to add the product to their environment (once they purchase it). Customers will have to perform prerequisites such as installing a driver and agents before performing the recovery. (Automation of some of the pre-requisites will be available in the GA phase.)
  • How can customers get access?
    Customers can reach out to their Commvault AE, SE, or CSM to purchase and enable the product. Schedule a demo and gain a competitive advantage with new technologies via this early access offering.  
  • What features will be available in Cleanroom Recovery for AWS Early Access?
    All features will be available. Pre-requisites need to be manually completed before executing Cleanroom Recovery into AWS.
  • When will Cleanroom Recovery into AWS be generally announced?
    We are targeting June/July 2025.
