This is regarding Exchange Online backup. We are trying to restore mails form mailbox but it seems not able to mount the backup file. We do not have any error regarding backups (archive).

We are not sure to understand “Check if playback succeded.”

  • does it mean mouting the backup file and read it (scan)?
  • we are supposed to have a job for restore but it seems, we are not even starting to mount the backup file

We have job history regarding backups (it did backup) but backup size is 0.

Something happen during the selection? Where it’s coming from? Someone can help?

Thanks

Hi Stoteam

“Check if playback succeeded” is regarding the index for your exchange backups.

The job type for Exchange is a Forever Incremental. So there is essentially one large backup that continues to add more incremental data.

So for a successful restore to take place the index needs to be in a complete state. so the job is stating that the index playback (rebuild of index) needs to be completed

I can see there is a support ticket raised with the same title as this post so would be best for the team to review the logs and can assist you with how the rebuild is going or is there is a genuine error with the rebuild they can help to resolve it,
