Hello,

We received the other day the following notification from Azure about .NET 6, which concern our Azure VMs:

.NET 6 will be removed from Windows Server 2022 Marketplace media on 13 May 2025

I assume that after a simple Commvault FR upgrade to 11.36 or higher, the problem ceases to exist, without any manual / additional actions in Azure VM, right?

Please for your feedback.

Best regards,
Nikos

Yes you can upgrade to the latest maintenance release for 11.32 (see this post) or 11.36 should also remove the dependency on the old .net version. Note that we won’t remove it automatically as some other applications may require it, but after upgrade it is safe to remove.

Dear @Damian Andre

Thanks a lot for your confirmation!

Our Azure VMs are only for Commvault purpose, so I think we are fine with just an upgrade from Commvault side :)

However, I cannot find any relevant reference in Maintenance Release 11.32.73 notes.

Best regards,
Nikos

Strange. I verified the update number is 11745 and was released in maintenance release 72 (which was an internal build - 73 became external). I’ve asked around internally to figure out why it might not be listed in the maintenance release docs - lets see what I get back ..
