currently I am struggling with the business logic workflows.
Can the usergroup that authorizes a config change and the aprovers group be the same … and Commvault takes care that not the same person authorizes the request?

Yes, WF would be taking care about such situation. I believe there is one caveat: if there’s only one approver available, being the requestor at the same time, then the approvals get auto accepted.
