Hi All ,

Wanted to check if there is a way to scan PSTs in Activate ?

Customer has data in PST format (size around 144 GB ) that needs to be scanned . Is it possible if this data is moved on to a file server can it be scanned/analyzed from live source using Activate FSO ?

@Pratyush

Are you looking just scan the PST file itself or the data (messages) within the PST? FSO is collecting file info

If you want to be able to search/review the actual messages contained within the PST files you can leverage PST Ingestion with the mailbox agent.

@Scott Reynolds : Thank you for the reply . Based on your response my understanding is

  1. Using activate FSO we can scan PST files but not the actual messages within PST .
  1. To search/review the actual messages contained within the PST files we can leverage PST Ingestion with the mailbox agent. Archive the PST and then we can use Compliance Search and eDiscovery feature to perform legal and compliance-related queries using search queries .

Is my understanding correct ?

@Prabhakar Yes that would be correct.
