Hello,

I am using a SQL on RHEL 8.2, have installed Commvault Filesystem and SQL agent 11.24 on it.

[sqladmin@SQL82~]$ cat /etc/redhat-release
Red Hat Enterprise Linux release 8.2 (Ootpa)
[sqladmin@SQL82 ~]$

Have used sqladmin which has necessary sysadmin rights and added these under properties of SQL client however still unable to discover any DBs in the subclient. Any clue ?

Hi @Dipendra

Thanks for the question.

Please take a look at Microsoft SQL Server: System requirements and ensure your environment meets these requirements.

RHEL 8.2 is listed as supported:

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.3 - 7.8, or 8.0 - 8.3 Server  /  EXT4 or XFS

There is also a requirement for ODBC 17.x or newer:

On Linux, Install Microsoft ODBC Driver 17.x or a More Recent Version

Install ODBC driver 'Microsoft ODBC 17.x' or above on the SQL server Linux client that you want to back up.

Alternatively, please try Databases Guided Setup for SQL Server

Thanks,

Stuart
