Hello

Does anyone know how to disable the automatic startup of the Hedvig services after a single node reboot? Disabling the CV services seems straightforward:

But will this also prevent the Hedvig services from starting up automatically, or do I need to disable each of them individually?

hedvigclogchk.service
hedvigdthrottle.service
hedvigfsc.service
hedvighblock.service
hedvighealthcheck.service
hedvighpod.service
hedvigmntcheck.service
hedvigpages.service
hedvigswatch.service

Is there perhaps a cleaner or more efficient way to achieve this?

Thanks

Michael

Hi Michael,

Is there a reason behind wanting to block the CVFS services from starting?

If you’re performing maintenance on the nodes, you can manually stop CVFS services for a single node or cluster entirely.

Rebooting the node will automatically start the CVFS services if these are performed. I may also have to double check whether manually disabling the aforementioned services will be reverted, but I know this is highly discouraged and not something we wish to communicate with customers due to the responsibility involved as well as the repurcussions.

Hi Jon

I'm relatively cautious when it comes to installing BIOS and firmware updates, and I always update the BIOS first on its own, followed by the rest of the firmware. It would be easier if the Hedvig services didn’t start automatically.
