Goodmorning my people pls my DDB Average Q&I Time in last 3 days: is 2,925 µs (146%)

now my question is, is there a way i can reduced it to at list 65% apart from moving it to from this media agent.

Hi Tinket,

You need to look at your configuration and why it is possibly slow. Common issues are incorrect specifications and or configuration. Please review configuration guide here.

Some points to make note of.

  • Configure LUNs so that no more than one DDB is configured on any one RAID group.
  • Configure only two DDBs per MediaAgent with two different LUN groups.
  • The DDB must be stored on solid state drives (SSD) that are local to the MediaAgent. Before setting up the DDB, the storage volumes must be validated for high performance. Use a tool that measures the IOPS (Input Output Operations per second). For optimal backup performance, the DDB needs to be on a fast, dedicated disk.

After you have checked the specs and its meets the requirements then look to run a IOPS test

Windows https://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v11_sp20/article?p=8825_1.htm

Linux https://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v11_sp20/article?p=8829_1.htm

If the results show good IOPS and the min specs/requirements are met then I would suggest putting all that info in a ticket and an engineer will be able to help you further.

@Blaine Williams Thank you for ur suggestion all the listed is all configure with even 40 mouth path each

media 1 and 2 is configure with DDB, we hv 5 HQ and 2 DR so u see.

my question is hw do i bring this high Q AND I  down to at list 65% which it use to be?

If all the configuration is in place, it sounds like the storage hardware hosting your DDB is not up to the task. What type of storage is it? Is it local to the media agent or shared from a SAN?

As per my previous post, have you run the IOPS test and what where the results?

Thank you, u hv I love ur enthusiasm, now what I did to solve this problem is I move the DDB to another media server which is 1, and the Q and I started dropping as usual. So I can say am fine now.
