is there any possibility to disable software compression an a secondary copy?
In my setup I have a primary deduplicated copy with software compression enabled, for an additional secondary copy I need to disbale on that copy software compression and deduplication since the Dell Data Domain and CyberSense doesn’t want to have compression enabled.
Here it is described that it should be possible to disable it, but I didn’t see that option.
You can do this by going to storage resources → Right-click the AUX copy and then click Properties → Click the Settings tab and unchecking the "Enable Software Compression with Deduplication" checkbox.

Hi Mohamed,
thx for the reply!
To understand it better…is then the compression on the primary copy disabled too, or on the secondary only?
I am asking, since I want to disable the compression (and deduplication) on the secondary copy only.
The primary copy should be deduplicated and compressed.
hello @JanR
This setting applies only to the secondary copy in the storage policy. The primary copy will remain enabled unless you change it.

@Mohamed Ramadan
Thx Mohamed, but I am a little bit confused, sorry.
My second copy is a non deduplicated one, so I can‘t activate the seeting shown in the first screenshot since there isn‘t a dedup engine.
Or did you mean, I have to deactivate it in ddb engine for the primary copy and then I am able to set it for each storage policy copy itself?

hello @JanR
No, don't disable deduplication for the primary copy (as you mentioned, it should be deduplicated and compressed). You only need to uncheck this option for the non-deduplication storage policy copy (your secondary copy).
