How to restore Oracle DB when block change tracking enabled using commvault

Hi All,

Currently we backup Oracle 19c Database using Commvault and size DB full backup around 65 TB.

For daily incremental , we enable block change tracking for fast backup duration. This oracle run in Red Hat OS.

My Question:

1-How to restore the oracle DB when block change tracking enable ? it is required any additional setting need to do during restoration activity?

2- Its is required to backup change block tracking file? and its use during restore?

3- Method to restore : Full > Incremental > Archive log right?

4-Any Knowledge Based (KB) or URL from Commvault can we refer?

I am not sure what you mean by Block Change Tracking file backup, as BCT is a database operation.
 
You do not have to worry about the BCT in a restore. If it was enabled at some point, it will be enabled again when the database is restored, either from a Full, Incremental, or when applying Archive Logs.

 

To restore, just follow the documentation using the Command Center or CommCell Console. Depending on the scenario, like In Place, Out of Place, Clone, Cross Machine, Redirect, Table Level Restore and so on, just navigate on the left panel to your desired operation.

In the backend, Commvault plugs into RMAN to restore data. If you are familiar with Oracle’s RMAN, you can check the RMAN restore script before you trigger the job.
