Is it possible to restore an AD account in CommVault even after the AD account was deleted (the account was deleted a few years back)?

Assuming you have the AD ida, and a long enough retention. No problem.

If you don’t it might still be possible, but it would be a huge hassle and most likely a bad idea ...

How are you backing up the machine? The Active Directory iDA allows you to restore individual updates.
