Forum|alt.badge.img+5

./cvpkgadd

cvZipFile = /home/sysadmin/Linux/linux-x8664/linux-glibc2.3-x86_64/BinaryPayLoad/cvzip

/home/sysadmin/Linux/linux-x8664/LooseUpdates/Updates/linux-x8664_11.0.0B80-SP7_SP7-HotFix-1749/linux-glibc2.3-x86_64/installer/newinstall.gz

Using installer from updates at /home/sysadmin/Linux/linux-x8664/LooseUpdates/Updates/linux-x8664_11.0.0B80-SP7_SP7-HotFix-1749/linux-glibc2.3-x86_64/installer/newinstall.gz

Using package installer /home/sysadmin/tmp/.gxsetup/12230/newinstall:

 - v1180534 11373KB gzipped at uslinux01 on 17-03-29 18:52:20 by pbuilder

..chgrp: invalid group: ‘14 groups’

FYI - I do not have “ROOT” access to the server could the above be the cause of that error?

hello @Commvault387

To resolve this issue, you'll need to log in as the root user as you mentioned or a user with sudo privileges. Additionally, make sure to adjust the directory permissions before proceeding with the installation

Let me know if you face any other issues

hello @Commvault387

Sure, just let the server admin know that we have two installation options: installing the package as root, or installing it as a SUDO user with root privileges,

as Commvault documentation below.
https://documentation.commvault.com/11.20/installing_commvault_locally_on_unix_linux_and_macintosh_computers_using_installation_package.html

I highly recommend the remote installation method as it’s the easiest.

If you require any further information, let me know
