Hello @Ajal

These are the steps:

1- Make sure your backup copy is up to date and nothing pending

2- Disable schedule
3- Promote copy to primary

4- Update Mount path from old MA’s to new MA’s

5- Validate Backup copy properties is pointing to the new path and MA.

6- Validate Datapath in snap copy is pointing to the new location

7- Turn it back on.

Kind regards

@Albert Williams  hi albert , i have no confusion in terms of promoting the primary copy , my question is about storage policeis with snap copies , how to manage them ,?

just changing the mount path manually for those policy

Hello @Ajal

Thanks for the response. You can manage all this configuration with the Datapath in the library configuration and the Snap copy in the storage policy.

I believe most of the SP settings will auto update to the new paths set when you change the libraries data paths but its always good to double check.

Kind regards

@Albert Williams  we dont do datapath update in the library

these are hyperscale 1.5 to hyperscale x ,

so we initialize hyperscale x stroage pool , create storage policy aux copy under each sP and run the aux copy job , once it is fully synced we make them as primary copy

my question is for snap copy , i can see some jobs in the snap copy , do we need to copy this ? or just change the mount path to new hyperscale x ? will it affect any restore in future ,

the snap copy was created as part of the app aware backup
