I have an LTO7 tape library that is giving us more and more issues. Our plan is to replace it with cloud storage instead of replace the tape.
Is it possible to ‘redirect’ the jobs from the tape copy policies that haven’t yet been written to tape over to a cloud policy? The “Media Not Copied” for the tape storage policy.

The simplest way to redirect or move data from one storage to another is to create an additional copy within the storage policy.
You would add another copy to the storage policy and if you wanted new data to go to cloud instead of tape, promote the new cloud copy to a higher precedence than the tape copy.
If you wanted to move existing data from the tape copy to the cloud, you would add the additional copy and then Aux Copy the existing data from tape to cloud.
Additional Copies of Backup Data
I guess, ultimately, the tape copy will become disabled and once the data has aged, this copy could then be removed or you could simply create a new copy with the relevant storage targets and then disassociate clients from the old tap estorage policy and re-associate to the new storage policy.
