Question

Multiple DDBs on same NTFS volume

Forum|alt.badge.img+7

Hello,

Can you please tell me if there are any limitations regarding putting multiple DDBs from multiple storage pools on a single NTFS volume, other than performance impact?

Should each DDB engine of each storage pool be configured to use separate folder? Or single folder for all DDBs should be used on single media agent?

Thank you!

Br,
Andrejs

Hi,

This is always about competition for space and IOPs.

If I was building a lab and place all the DDBs on one volume, I’d keep them in absolutely separate folders, keeping in mind Antivirus exclusions following the DDB folders.

Hi,

In this case, my question is about production deployment, but volume is on high performance NVMe SDD disks.
