Does anyone know if there is a way to have the option of doing the CommServe DR Backup to another VM.

This is a Linux CommServe.

We are currently doing it to the local path and to the Metallic Cloud.

Is there a way to add a 3rd option or to change the local path to another VM?

Thanks

hello @Libi

I can provide a straightforward scenario for you:

1.Set Up a Linux File Share Server:
First, you'll need to set up another VM as a Linux file share server. You can follow the steps outlined in this
https://www.redhat.com/sysadmin/samba-file-sharing

2. Configure and Mount the File Share on Linux CommServe:
Next, you'll want to configure and mount the file share dir on your Linux CommServe. Detailed instructions can be found in this
https://docs.redhat.com/en/documentation/red_hat_enterprise_linux/7/html/storage_administration_guide/mounting_an_smb_share#mounting_an_smb_share

I've provided an example based on RHEL. If you're using a different distribution, I recommend searching for similar articles based on the links provided.

Would something like this help?

https://documentation.commvault.com/2023e/expert/configuring_local_drive_or_network_share_as_export_destination_for_disaster_recovery_dr_backups.html

You can configure your export destination to be a network share. Just need to make sure such share is correctly configured from an OS/Permissions/Network perspective

Thanks everyone for your answers, as a work around we are going to write a job that will copy the DR folder to the specific server.

I do appreciate everyone’s help
