Hi Everyone,

looking to make a server plan change to an existing o365/exchange backup apps.

Environment:

On-premise, storeonce catalyst integrated. All o365 workloads, Teams, EXO, SPO, OD are going to one storeonce catalyst store for dedup.

Apps Configuration:

EXO, Team and OD shared the same office 365 and Server plans.

objective/ planning to Change: to have separate schedule/flexibility each apps

if a new server plan is created and pointing the same storage/store catalyst, and update existing  EXO apps, what would be the expected behavior for the next job? would the next job creates new full?

thank you in advance for your feedbacks.

Hi @benv

This will still run an incremental backup not a full backup. This applies to all V2 Office365 agents.

Hi @Scott Reynolds , thanks for reply.

if incremental, ill have to keep the other plan then to be able do successfull restore. anyway to force?

thanks again/

Yes that is correct. It will automatically know where to pull the data on restore.

@Scott Reynolds , would it be possible to force a new full/convert once new plan is associated? if so, how would data on old plan expires to reclaim storage space?

 thanks

In the Commcell console there is an option to convert to full
https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/expert/29004_running_exchange_mailbox_agent_archiving_job.html

On the Archive Options tab, if you want to run the job as a full back up job, select the Convert job to full checkbox.

Note the job type will still appear as an incremental in the job controller but all messages are being backed up like a full. Once complete you can delete the previous backups if desired.

@Scott Reynolds , when you delete backups you meant the server plan, correct? i used Command Center for o365 configurations.

Deleting the plan just deletes the plan not the backups associated to it.

Previous backup jobs are still existing.

@Scott Reynolds thank you.
