Hello,

We use Commvault 11.34 (we plan to update to 11.36 in 2 months)

I want to use the data masking feature of Commvault
I have 2 pgsql VMs hosted on VMware environment.
The DBA ask me if it is possible to restore the VMs on a test environment and apply a data Making policy to anonymize the restored data.

I have checked the Commvault Documents about this feature

Does someone have a experience feedback about this feature ?

Thanks !

Hello @BloopaAgain ,

Good day!

Data masking option is not available for the Virtual level restores.

It can be done for certain DB IDA’s

Thanks I was able to test this on SQL Server and it works good, but unfortunately I have a Linux Commserve on my corporate and it seems that there is some bugs.

I have opened a ticket !

I am going to test also the Oracle Data masking

Thanks
