I had a request to produce a quarterly report that will list all types of exclusions that have been put in place in Commvault. Currently on 11.32.89
I have been looking at the reports on the Commvault cloud, Custom reports, rest API. This seems like a nearly impossible task to do.
What we are looking for is :
Does anyone know how we could accomplish this ?

+24Your VM exclusions - are you explicitly adding a VM as excluded or using a rule to find VMs to exclude at runtime?
If the latter there would be no way to invoke the runtime rules to get a list - but you should beable to get the rules somehow. A different tact might be to scrape the vsdiscover log file for this info.
The CommCell configuration report may work - I have not tried it but it may display discovery rules and exclusions.

It’s for explicitly excluded VMs and VM disks.
I will look at the vsdiscover log and see what useful information I can get in there. Otherwise, it seems like we will have to manually scrape the info we are looking for.

+16The Audit Trail Report should capture all explicit filtering / exclusion configurations.
A combination of Keywords and Quick Filters may return the required results.
