This is in the command center - protection - office 365 - sharepoint, configuration tab:
What does it mean Commvault is using the default container? Where do we set this default container?

Thank you.

@No special characters

This means that the SharePoint agent will use "Tenant default storage container to do restore instead of using azure storage container, otherwise, will use azure storage account to get azure container to do restore." this was default enable since FR28 with product.

In case you requirement to use storage account explicilty then you may need a additional settings to change or edit this.

What if the customer is not familiar with storage containers in Azure? Do all MS Azure customers get a storage that is marked as “default” in their azure, even if they dont know about it? Or do they need to look it up and mark it as default?

@No special characters The default is always included, and no actions need to be performed from the user from within Azure. This is noted in Docs.

  • An Azure storage account is no longer required for SharePoint agent restores. Restores now use a default container. The cost of the default container is free and is part of the Microsoft SharePoint Online offering.
