Hi

 

Could you please advise, If Commvault is able to backup SMB share permissions when it backs up a share that is hosted by a failover cluster? i.e: if we have to restore an entire share through Commvault, will it also restore the share permissions or will these need to be backed up separately, eg: via the registry on the server?

Good morning.  The restore ACL’s option should restore permissions.  It is responsible for carrying out this function.
