Hello Commvault,

To restrict restore operations to Commvault users, I see that there is the “Browse and Restore” Role with following Permissions:

There is a requirement to have separated permissions groups / users for restore:
- VMware VM restore
- o365 Exchange online restore
- OneDrive for business restore

Is this possible?

Please for your feedback,
Nikos

Hello all,

Just wanted to share that I figured this out.

From Commcell, you can set specific users / groups in client level:

After that, assign the Browse and Restore role and should be OK.

Best regards,
Nikos

Yes, I think you can achieve this by leveraging server groups and to have different permission groups with roles attached to them applied to them.

Hello @Onno van den Berg and thanks for your reply!

Do you think it’s possible to “split” the restore roles/permissions between o365 services?
For example to have:
- A group that can restore only Exchange online mailboxes and
- B group that can restore only OneDrive?

Thank you in advance,
Nikos
