I see below mentioned in storage utilization report

Total Used Space
Total Data Written
Total Application Size

Considering Total Application Size is Front End data , what is the difference between Total Used Space
and Total Data Written , tried to find it in documentation but not able to .

Why total used space is almost 50% higher than total data written ?

Hi @Mohit Chordia,

Data written is the total data written by the current active jobs and Total Used Space is the total size occupied on the disk. With deduplication, this includes the data written and the size occupied by aged jobs that are still referenced by other valid job.

Hence Used Space always tends to be on the higher side when compared with Data Written.

How does Total Application Size is calculated ?

If iam backing up 10TB database , data written is 1 TB after dedupe & compression in primary copy and then another 1 TB for offsite copy .

Then Application size would be 10TB or 20TB considering i am taking 2 copies of backups.
