Good dayCommvault people,

I have a customer who’s asking if we can enable two-factor authentication for the Admin account. My first answer would be no, as it is your only backdoor account, if there is a disaster and you need to restore anything.

I also looked at the documentation and they mention enabling it for the CommCell which is for everyone, but does that include the built-in Admin account?

Many thanks in advance for clarifications.

Carl

I enabled 2FA for all users in my lab and it applied to the “admin” account.

I would argue the “admin” account is/should be the most powerful account in the system, and thus should definitely require extra security measures in order to keep it locked down.

Thanks,
Scott
