Hi Folks,

Configured one of the windows client in Commvault 11.28 version. While creating the backup, in properties→ Content→ Browse→ Available Volume Drives are not listing up. What may be the reason? Kindly suggest/ recommend the possible solutions. Thank you all in advance!

Hello @RAKAjay ,

Thank you for reaching us out.!

Can you run Checkreadiness for the client and ensure that the connection are established fine?

Kindly share the screenshot of what you see when you perform Broswe along with CVD.log from the client.

properties→ All Task → Check Readiness

Hello @Hemanth,

Thank you for the reply. Yes, Check Readiness states that it is Ready! All the machines displaying its available drives (C:, D:, etc). Only the specific machine not listing its available drives in Content→ Browse

Hello @RAKAjay ,

Can you share the screenshot?

And when happens when you run the backup?

Hello @RAKAjay

To add on to what Hemanth mentioned, could you login to the client machine, open commvault process manager and confirm if the client and commserve  details are correct under the general tab and client version matches with commserve’s? Also check the services tab and confirm if all the services are up and running.

Secondly, on commcell, please check if the backup set of the client is not greyed out. To end with, please also create a new backup set followed by a sub client and see if you are able to see all the contents.

Best,

Rajiv Singal

Hi @Hemanth , will share the screenshot at earliest.

Hello @Rajiv , the pre checks are all done as same you pointed out.

  1. Process Managers for both the commserv and clients are same
  2. Services on Client are running
  3. Backup set is not greyed out
  4. Tried creating new sub client, the same issue- available drives of that client is not listed up

Hello @RAKAjay What happens if you manually add the missing drives in the sub client content? Does it backup then? Also, have you attempted to perform a re-installation of the CV software?

Best,

Rajiv Singal

Hello @RAKAjay

Please attempt a re-installation of the CV packages on the client machine once and confirm if that helps.

Best,

Hello @RAKAjay,

Thank you for sharing the screenshot. Can you create a new subclient and see if you are able to browse the content?

As requested, can you send me CVD.log from the client?

That’s a good thought, possibly the iFind.exe process is not responding as expected. Can you ensure that AV exclusions are in-place: https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/essential/antivirus_exclusions_for_windows.html

If all the other things are in-place and still if you are unable to discover the drives, reinstalling would be possibly fix the issue
