There isn't anything inherently different if you are treating machines as physical. Install agents as you would in an on-prem environment. If you are interested in agent less protection then we have EC2 backups, snapshots etc.

Your best friend is the architecture guide for AWS, that helps with system requirements and best practices, as well as recommendations for storage types etc.
